What Does SEND Mean?
SEND stands for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. A child with SEND may need additional support to:

- Communicate effectively
- Build relationships
- Manage emotions

Understanding Different Needs
Children with SEND can have different needs. Every child is unique, and some may need support in more than one area.
Communication & Interaction
- Difficulty speaking or understanding language
- Struggle to express their needs
- Find social interaction challenging
- May be on the Autism Spectrum
Cognitive & Learning Needs
- Learn at a slower pace
- Difficulty with reading, writing, or numeracy
- Need repeated practice and structured support
Social, Emotional & Mental Health
- Experience anxiety or frustration
- Difficulty managing emotions
- Display challenging behaviors

Physical & Sensory Needs
