What is Child Abuse?
Child abuse means a child is hurt, neglected, or not cared for properly. It can happen in different ways — recognizing each form is the first step to protection.
Physical Abuse
Hitting, shaking, or causing physical harm to a child in any way.
Emotional Abuse
Constant criticism, threats, rejection, or withholding love and support.
Sexual Abuse
Any sexual behavior directed toward a child is never appropriate or acceptable.
Neglect
Failing to provide a child with basic needs — food, shelter, supervision, education, or medical care.

Children might not always speak about what is happening, but their behavior and body language can signal that something is wrong.

What Should You Do?

Reassure Them
